Few places can offer the style of life enjoyed here and at such an affordable price. PGA Tour Championship golf courses, excellent watersports (El Medano has hosted the many International windsurfing championships), wonderful scuba diving, tennis, unrivalled hiking and cycling -to name but a few! Touring is most enjoyable as Tenerife is sufficiently large and varied to ensure it will take you a long time to really get to know the island. For the "party animals" there are excellent night clubs to suit all ages and styles. If your are interested in culture, there are many art galeries, churches and, of course, the Teatro Guimera , the 19th Century Opera House where you can enjoy ballet, opera and theatre productions. Touring shows-pop, classical and theatrical visit the Island and there are open air concerts during the summer. Horse riding, pony trekking or even camel safaris are a great way to see and explore the countryside. |

The amazing modern (1993) lighthouse in the North of the Island is well worth the trip to see. The countryside is green and wild, the spectacular coastline natural and volcanic. You may even see Papaya fruit growing on planations! A total contrast to the more arid South.

In the North East of the Island lies the historic town of Santiago del Teide. Nestling in the foothills of the national park, inland from Los Gigantes, this beautiful, peaceful town is an ideal stopping off point on the way to Masca. Even on sunny days the amazing puffy clouds seem to roll down the mountains like cotton wool.

| Every year in June on San Juan night, there are big celebrations all over the Island. Bonfires are lit on the beach and people have BBQ's whilst burning away the "sins" of the past year. The brave also go into the sea to let 7 waves break over them to complete their cleansing! | |

| Listed as one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world by The Times, Masca is certainly one of the places to visit on the Island! Be prepared for the drive up a narrow road with hairpin bends and massive drops....but amazing views down the gorges to the sea and over to the neighbouring island of La Gomera. Often the clouds will be below you and the mountains seem to rise up out of them like islands from the ocean! Stop for a drink and tapas at one of the wonderful bars which seem to hang off the side of the mountains..or for the more adventurous, walk down the gorge to the sea and take a boat back to Los Gigantes. | |
